We are so excited that you are joining our community. We trust that the following information will assist you as you commence your journey at the AITC as a Rookie.
New Starter Pack
Families will be emailed a new starter pack so that you are aware of what is required before your young person commences with us. This email will be sent by the Customer Experience Officer who has assisted you with your enrolment journey.
College Hours
College starts at 8:20am every day, and finishes at 2:50pm Monday and Friday. College finishes at 3:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as young people have tutorials.*
*This may vary for each College and will be available on the Parent Lounge once your son or daughter commences with us.
Uniforms
Our young people wear the AITC uniform proudly. The uniform is designed to be both functional and comfortable, and is compulsory for young people to wear when attending the College. Additionally, young people on Industry Block are expected to be dressed in the appropriate AITC industry uniform and as directed by the safety standards of the industry – this will also comply with employers’ expectations.
We recommend that you order your uniforms as soon as possible as all College shirts and industry shirts must be embroidered with the AITC logo and the young person’s first name by the supplier and this can take several days. Details of suppliers for each school are provided in the respective new starter packs sent to all families upon acceptance of an offer. Current families can contact the school for further information.
IMPORTANT: Students in the Energy Academy, Protech Academy and Boating Industry Academy have different uniform items. If your young person has been accepted into these programs, please DO NOT purchase the standard College or Industry shirts. Further information will be provided by the Customer Experience Officer prior to the commencement of the program.
- Your young person will require their College Uniform for the two days of Industry Preparation prior to attending the Rookies Challenge at Emu Gully
- Your young person will not require their College uniform for Rookies Challenge; however, they will require their hi-vis industry shirt and long navy pants for this camp
- All young people who attend Rookies Challenge are presented with an AITC cap that they can wear at school, so you will not be required to purchase a College hat. Replacement hats are available to purchase from your school.

Only AITC hats or caps are acceptable. A hat will be presented to all young people when they attend the Induction Camp. In the event of lost hats, replacements are available for purchase from the College reception.
Uniform Overview
BYOD
We are a BYOD school which means Bring Your Own Device. Students are to purchase their own laptop, however the brand is not specified to allow you to select a laptop that suits your family’s budget. There are minimum requirements and specifications however so please read the linked document below for further information.
The Australian Industry Trade College is the leading senior school (Years 10-12) of choice for Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba students wanting a work-ready education. With six campuses across South East Queensland, our students emerge from AITC with their high school certificate as well as a trade qualification of their choice, such as electrical apprenticeship, plumbing apprenticeship, hairdressing apprenticeship, or more.
