Most young people at the AITC undertake a three-year education program to complete their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). The education block runs for 5 weeks each term.
Year 10
The AITC prides itself on offering students industry education aligned with the Australian Curriculum (ACARA). Year 10 at the AITC is a year of EXPLORATION. The education program has been developed to support the functional education skills that AITC young people will require to succeed in the workplace.

Year 11
- Literacy: Explore how meaning is communicated in contemporary texts developed for and used in a work context while completing Essential English Units 1 (Terms 1 and 2) and 2 (Terms 3 and 4).
- Numeracy: Essential Mathematics Units 1 (Terms 1 and 2) and 2 (Terms 3 and 4) include topics such as graphs, data, money and travel, and how they can be applied in real-world settings.
- Vocational Education: Completion of Certificate II in Skills for Work & Vocational Pathways (FSK20119) and a selection of units from Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies (ICT20120). Courses are tailored to reflect the needs of young people as they embark on a career in industry and include topics in digital literacy and numeracy for work, managing a micro-business and applying for a job.
Year 12
- Literacy: Essential English Units 3 (Terms 1 and 2) and 4 (Terms 3 and 4) explore community, local and/or global issues and ideas presented in a range of texts that invite an audience to take up positions.
- Numeracy: Essential Mathematics Units 3 (Terms 1 and 2) and 4 (Terms 3 and 4) include topics such as measurement, scales, plans and loans.
- Vocational Education: Completion of Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business (BSB30220). This qualification provides young people with all the skills and knowledge required to start a new business including topics such as financial management, using the MYOB platform, developing a business idea and plan, legislative requirements and networking skills.
