Thirty Australian Industry Trade College Ipswich students and staff members volunteered their time to beautify Gatton Hospital gardens last week.

Volunteers cleared debris and established over thirty plants across three areas. The students proudly took ownership of their work and made a difference to the area.

The initiative was supported by Pohlmans Retail Nursery, Bunnings Warehouse Australia and Southern Cross Transit Queensland, who all provided resources to make the project a great success.

Director of Nursing at Gatton Hospital Deb Woods said patients and their loved ones now have a more comfortable stay as well as some beautiful new gardens that all the community can enjoy.

Work on a reflection garden at Laidley Hospital is due to start in July with the support of Ipswich Hospital Foundation.
